APP Urology - Inpatient
About the role
Applicants must have 1-2 years of patient care experience as an APP. Ideal candidates will be confident working with primarily adult patients in an acute setting.
Responsibilities
- Serve as first call for hospital urology coverage including consults, post-operative rounding, and bedside procedures with oversight from a physician.
- Occasional clinic coverage to assist with evaluation of urgent referrals.
- Coordinate care with the multi-disciplinary team to facilitate implementation of patients' progress towards outcomes, which includes discharge or transfer of care.
- Assist in the development and integration of quality measures/evidence into clinical practice.
- Perform an initial comprehensive assessment of the patient to determine if the patient requires a higher intensity of service and requires transfer to a hospital setting.
- Facilitate timely discharges/transfers to the appropriate level of care.
- Evaluate and appropriately manage patients. Complete appropriate documentation necessary to support billing and medical care orders.
- Be available for any nursing questions or to evaluate status changes for patients.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Current unrestricted or pending licensure in the state of Michigan.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care.

Schedule
Three, 12 hour shifts per week, 13 weekends per year including 'holiday weekends' though no holiday or call obligation.
