About the role
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) UHS Occupational Medicine works in collaboration with a multidisciplinary health care team in the University Health Service environment. The APP plays a key role in supporting employee health compliance in accordance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct and provide clinical guidance with occupational and work-related medical evaluations
- Participate in the care of worker's compensation patients
- Participate in on-call duties including the initial management of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens or other biological hazards
- Ensure an environment of safe quality care
- Demonstrate advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation
- Take responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency training
Requirements
- MSN for Nurse Practitioners or BS for Physician Assistants
- 1 year required related experience
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) licensure/certification
Qualifications
- Experience or prior training in Occupational Medicine, Public Health, Emergency Medicine, Primary Care or a related field preferred
