About the role

At Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA), the Advanced Practitioner combines the responsibilities of an Advanced Practitioner and a Physician within mutually established medical guidelines, approved by the appropriate licensing board in the State of Washington. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including primary, acute, chronic, and emergency care, to achieve, maintain, and restore optimal patient outcomes.
  • Engage in health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of frequently occurring illnesses and other medical problems.
  • Assume accountability to the Physician Preceptor for screening, treatment, and follow-up care.
  • Assume responsibility for clinical management of cases within the scope of authority.
  • Provide patient care in satellite clinics when assigned.
  • Conduct specialty clinics (e.g., Migrant School Physicals, Diabetic groups, sport physicals, well-baby clinics) within the clinic or community as the primary care provider.
  • Provide back-up to the Perinatal Care Program provider and deliver services according to CBHA perinatal protocols.
  • Participate in planning and instituting health care programs as a peer member of the health care team.
  • Promote a positive work culture and uphold clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of behavior.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information, and other proprietary information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Preference for prior successful experience in a family practice clinical setting.

Qualifications

License and Certification

  • Physician Assistant: Possesses or is eligible for licensure in Washington State and certified (PA-C) by the National Association of Physician Assistants.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner: Possesses or is eligible for licensure in Washington State as an ARNP.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite to create simple displays of information.
  • Ability to become proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record Software.

Communication Skills

  • Responsible for effectively communicating clinical information to non-clinical staff, patients, and others.
  • Ability to provide effective written (including electronic) communication in both formal and informal environments.

Pay

Salary range: $110,000 - $135,000 (plus RVU Incentive Bonus), with the ability to earn higher for highly experienced candidates.
