Job Summary
The Otolaryngology Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care for patients with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. The NP works in collaboration with otolaryngologists and the multidisciplinary team to perform assessments, manage medical and surgical treatments, and provide patient education.
Qualifications
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.
- Experience In Otolaryngology, ENT, Or Related Fields Preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.
- State Controlled Substance License (if required by State)
- NP or PA position - APP 1 Support the practice of head and neck surgery within the department of ENT Role will be both clinic and OR There will be a rotation of independent clinic, clinic supporting the surgeon practice, and the OR OR hours can be variable Clinic is 8-5 Mon-Fri There is a rotation of weekend rounds in the hospital shared by all members of the head and neck team There is no call There are opportunities to perform in-clinic procedures.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form.
