APP - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant | OBGYN
About the role
The OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to women across the lifespan, with a focus on reproductive health, pregnancy, and gynecologic conditions. The NP works in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- At least 1–2 years of experience in women’s health or OB/GYN setting preferred
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
- Maintain clinical practice within scope of licensure and in compliance with organizational policies
Qualifications
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form
Skills
- Perform well-woman exams
- Manage common gynecologic concerns
- Provide prenatal and postnatal care
- Conduct initial obstetric assessments
- Order and interpret prenatal labs and imaging
- Educate patients on birth control options, family planning, pregnancy, and postpartum care
- Assist in managing chronic conditions affecting reproductive health
- Support patients with infertility evaluations and treatment coordination
- Provide urgent evaluations for early pregnancy complications or gynecologic emergencies
- Participate in patient education and counseling
