About the role

The OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner provides advanced nursing care to women across the lifespan, with a focus on reproductive health, pregnancy, and gynecologic conditions. The NP works in collaboration with OB/GYN physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gyn surgery
  • See women’s health clinic patients
  • Possible rounding
  • No EMTALA call
  • Strong referral opportunities

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in women’s health or OB/GYN setting preferred
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice
  • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice
  • Maintain clinical practice within scope of licensure and in compliance with organizational policies

Qualifications

  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required specific competencies and certifications as outlined on privilege form

Skills

  • Perform well-woman exams
  • Manage common gynecologic concerns
  • Provide prenatal and postnatal care
  • Conduct initial obstetric assessments
  • Order and interpret prenatal labs and imaging
  • Educate patients on birth control options, family planning, pregnancy, and postpartum care
  • Assist in managing chronic conditions affecting reproductive health
  • Support patients with infertility evaluations and treatment coordination
  • Provide urgent evaluations for early pregnancy complications or gynecologic emergencies
  • Participate in patient education and counseling
