About the role
The Float Advanced Practice Provider (APP) supports a team of five Neurosurgeons across various care settings, including outpatient clinic, inpatient services, and surgical assisting. This role demands flexibility and a broad skill set to contribute comprehensively to neurosurgical care.
Responsibilities
- Supports Neurosurgeons in multiple care settings.
- Aids physicians in assessing patients, treating injuries, and managing ailments.
- Develops and implements treatment plans and prescribes medications as necessary.
- Maintains detailed patient records and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals.
- Counsels patients and their families on health promotion, risk reduction, and treatment plans.
- Conducts research and applies evidence-based practices to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Maintains current knowledge of state regulations and payer systems relevant to advanced practice provider practices.
Requirements
- Master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.
- Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances.
- Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
Qualifications
- Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
- Demonstrated current competence and provision of care for an adequate volume of patients.
- Experience correlating to the privileges requested.
- Obtains and maintains required department-specific competencies and certifications.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of medical principles, practices, and techniques.
- Flexibility and adaptability to varied shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and on-call rotations.
