APP Adolescent Medicine Clinic

About the role

The Seattle Children’s is seeking a motivated and versatile Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA), to join their growing Adolescent Medicine team.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assume primary responsibility for clinical management of patients in ambulatory, operating room, emergency department, and inpatient settings.
• Obtain patient histories, perform physical examinations, order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and develop treatment plans.
• Direct or participate in case management and continuing care.
• Collaborate, refer, and consult with department attending physicians, specialists, and other members of the health care team to deliver effective, efficient, safe, and high-quality care.
• Contribute to organizational and departmental continuous performance and quality improvement projects.
• Participate in education and research efforts for patients, families, and the health care team.

Location & Deployment

This is a blended clinic-based and telehealth position. While your primary deployment will be at our Main Campus in Seattle, WA, flexibility is key; occasional coverage may be required at one of our partnering clinic sites in the area to ensure seamless patient care across the region.

Required Education And Experience

• Master’s degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program.
• One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.
• Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of Washington.
• Current national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner.
• Active Drug Enforcement Authority registration.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions.
• Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Providers.
• Employees are responsible for any costs (including time away from work) associated with obtaining PALS or PEARS certification if it is not a requirement of the position.
• Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider, Seattle Children’s Hospital.
• Prior to start of employment, must obtain, and maintain in good standing, medical or allied health professional staff privileges that are not limited, revoked, suspended, conditioned, or probationary, except for normal probationary periods due to initial appointment.

Preferred

• Two years experience in a nurse practitioner role.
• Two years experience in pediatric health care.

Compensation Range

$137,321.42 - $200,344 per year
