About the role

Turner Specialty Services is seeking an experienced API 510/570/653 Inspector for a full-time, non-exempt position in the Decatur, AL area. This role reports to the Site Manager and involves performing non-destructive examination (NDE) of materials in accordance with referencing codes. Work is assigned under close supervision and checked frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance with reference code
  • Assist with nondestructive testing equipment set-up and calibration
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with procedures and standards
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by certified inspector/technician
  • Complete additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Requirements

  • Valid NDE certifications and relevant experience
  • NDE background preferred
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, turnaround environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation

Physical Involvement

  • Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level
  • Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, and structures
  • Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials
  • Coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment
  • Lifting 30-50 lbs. from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
  • Carrying objects and tools
  • Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods
  • Seeing and hearing with or without correction
  • Following set procedures and standards, applying basic mathematical skills
  • Planning work and interpreting drawings, diagrams, and blueprints
  • Reading, writing, and following oral/written directions
  • Recognizing and reporting safety hazards

Pay

Final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
