API Inspector

About the role
We are seeking an experienced API 510 / 570 inspector (API 653 is a plus) for full-time work in Pasadena, TX. This role involves performing non-destructive examination (NDE) of materials in accordance with referencing codes, interpreting and creating isometric drawings, and adhering to safety and procedural standards. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Site Manager, with duties assigned under close supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist in performing duties associated with NDE of materials in accordance with reference code
- Assist with nondestructive testing equipment set-up and calibration
- Apply testing criteria in accordance with procedures and standards
- Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by certified inspector/technician
- Complete additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- API 510/570 Certification (API 653 is a plus)
- TWIC card is required
- Valid API certifications and relevant experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, turnaround environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
- Compliance with job site safety requirements (e.g., clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots)
- Use of required safety equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard)

Physical Requirements
- Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc., above and below ground level
- Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, and structures
- Reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials
- Coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment
- Lifting 30-50 lbs. from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
- Carrying objects and tools
- Standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods
- Visual and hearing acuity (with or without correction)
- Following set procedures, applying basic mathematical skills, and planning work
- Comparing and understanding differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects
- Interpreting solid objects from drawings or diagrams using measurable standards
- Following oral and/or written directions, plans, and blueprints
- Reading, writing, and reporting safety hazards
