About the Role
MISTRAS Group, Inc. is seeking a qualified API 510/570 Inspector for a full-time opportunity in the Baton Rouge area. This role is ideal for an experienced inspector with a strong background in fixed equipment inspections and integrity management within industrial and petrochemical environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain the mechanical integrity of the fixed equipment of the refinery.
- Perform visual inspection of completed work and recommend and approve repairs.
- Assist in the scheduling of activities related to inspection.
- Use proper safety procedures and equipment.
- Properly use and complete customer and company job-related forms and paperwork.
- Abide by Company policies and procedures.
- Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines.
- Perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice.
- Prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines.
- Deliver reports to clients.
- Work outdoors in a plant atmosphere.
- Work in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels.
- Wear required safety equipment.
Requirements
- Possess the related API 510/570 certification with at least one year of related experience.
- Understanding of traditional NDE (Non-Destructive Examination).
- New construction experience highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or college credits preferred.
- Proficient with MS Word and Excel and able to write detailed inspection reports.
- Ability to lift and carry 35 pounds.
- Capable of climbing, working at high elevations, and working in confined spaces.
- Able to walk and climb to maneuver within a refinery or plant environment, including access to elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, to conduct investigations.
- Sufficient manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform routine office duties.
Essential Physical Functions
- Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs.
