About the role

We are seeking a talented Senior API Developer to join our team and play a key role in shaping the future of our platform. As a senior API developer, you will design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs that power our systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of APIs. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior developers, lead technical discussions, and drive the adoption of best practices and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance APIs.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, architect solutions, and ensure scalability, reliability, and security of APIs.
  • Mentor junior developers and lead technical discussions.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices and standards in API development.
  • Design, maintain, and implement APIs, microservices, and backend components.
  • Collaborate with API developers across the team to build new features at scale.
  • Improve API standards and services.
  • Develop and unit test Java RESTful services that integrate with external client systems.
  • Review design documents and provide feedback on approach and estimates.
  • Create technical designs for new systems and/or modifications to existing systems.
  • Translate detailed requirements into functional system designs.
  • Prioritize work, meet deadlines, and establish effective working relationships with clients, project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments.
  • Work closely with internal and external design, business, and technical counterparts.
  • Research and recommend functional libraries to expedite development.

Requirements

  • At least 8+ years of Java/J2EE development, hands-on troubleshooting, and deployment experience (mandatory).
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices.
  • Working knowledge and hands-on experience with DevOps tools like Jenkins, uDeploy, and Git.
  • Knowledge of Kafka.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM MQ.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work closely with diverse personality types and understand technical issues.
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and maintain effective working relationships.
