API Analyst

About the role

The API Analyst is responsible for defining, designing, and documenting the interactions between software components. This includes defining different endpoints, specifying all the formats to be used, and creating the Swagger that forms part of the API.

Responsibilities

• Design new as well as update Rest API and Kafka event Services
• Define endpoints, data formats, and authentication methods, while also considering factors like security, performance, and best practices
• Understand business requirements and translate them to API Design
• Build integration solutions with IBM MDM AE product, Mongo DB and Kafka
• Implement API design best practices and use modern API design patterns
• Support technical planning, estimation, development, testing and AT support
• Participate in production incident analysis and issue resolution
• Work in Agile environment using JIRA and Confluence tools

Requirements

• Required minimum of 6+ years professional experience designing and developing Rest APIs and other (Kafka) Data Streaming services
• Experience on UML or BPMN, workflow design
• Working knowledge of SOAP Web Services, XML, JSON, XSD, WDL, Postman
• Experience working with Oracle, Mongo DB and SQL
• Technical writing skills, good oral and written communications and presentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
