API 510/Mechanical Integrity Inspector - Houston
Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Integrity Inspector to join our Asset Integrity Management team. This role involves performing API inspections on Mechanical Integrity and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) projects.
About the role
The Mechanical Integrity Inspector will collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance teams, reporting to the Mechanical Integrity Team Leader. Responsibilities include API inspections, oversight of RBMI programs, recommending repairs, and certifying compliance with API standards and industry regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform internal and external inspections on equipment at scheduled intervals to maintain mechanical integrity of fixed equipment and piping in accordance with API 510, API 570, and API Risk-Based Inspection (RBI).
- Enter data into the Risk Based Mechanical Integrity (RBMI) database and develop a comprehensive RBI Inspection program.
- Provide oversight and recommendations for the RBMI program.
- Conduct Nondestructive Examination (NDE) inspections as needed.
- Scope, perform, and/or coordinate turnaround inspection activities.
- Write detailed inspection and turnaround reports and maintain documentation of inspection activities.
- Apply examination criteria in accordance with applicable standards, evaluate test results, and solve technical issues in the field.
- Provide clear and technical guidance to other technicians and subcontractors.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Mechanical Integrity Inspection.
- API 510 certification (additional certifications such as 570, 653, and 580 are a plus).
- NDE and drafting background preferred.
- Valid TWIC card (required).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required).
- Excellent computer and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated and driven individual.
- Ability to maintain open lines of communication with coworkers, clients, and subcontractors.
