About the role

The Apartment Maintenance Supervisor reports to a Property Manager and works to ensure apartment homes and facilities for an assigned community are in good working order and maintained to MAA standards. This position coordinates the maintenance team, responds promptly and courteously to service requests, maintains an adequate supply of market‑ready apartments to meet leasing demand, and ensures property appearance meets or exceeds standards. The supervisor also assists with hiring, training, and developing assigned maintenance staff, which may include painters and/or landscaping personnel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the maintenance team to ensure repair and maintenance of property facilities and apartment units.
• Provide prompt and courteous responses to resident service requests.
• Maintain an adequate supply of market‑ready apartments to meet leasing demand.
• Ensure property appearance meets or exceeds MAA standards.
• Assist with hiring, training, and developing maintenance staff, including painters and landscaping staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Three to five years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, and/or mechanical repair, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• HVAC experience required.
• EPA Type II or EPA Universal license required.
• For Florida locations, CAMT license required at time of hire or by the next professional examination opportunity.
• Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
• One to three years of supervisory experience preferred.
