Apartment Grounds Crew | Part-Time

About the role

Smartland, a Cleveland-based owner and operator of apartment communities and single-family homes, is hiring a Grounds Crew Member to help maintain cleanliness, safety, and attractiveness of their properties in Garfield Hts. or Shaker Hts.

Responsibilities

• Keep grounds, walkways, and parking areas clean and safe
• Remove trash and debris from common areas
• Handle seasonal work: snow removal, salting, ice management
• Operate equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Move materials, appliances, and supplies as needed
• Report hazards or property issues promptly
• Support maintenance team with general labor

Requirements

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work outdoors year-round
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures

Pay & Growth

• $18–$24/hr based on experience
• Stable, consistent part-time schedule
• Growth path into Maintenance Technician and other roles
