About the role

As a Teacher at YES Prep, you will develop rigorous lessons in your specific content area within 1:1 blended learning environments. You will set ambitious goals, track student growth, and use data to create student growth plans. Building transformative relationships with students and families through consistent communication is key. You will collaborate with a co-planner, meet deadlines for lesson plans and grading, and work on a team to ensure consistency and accountability for all students.

Additional responsibilities include conducting weekly tutorials, completing supervision duties (morning duty, lunch duty, dismissal, detention, and afterschool duty), and growing professionally through feedback. You will persist in the face of challenges, learn from mistakes, and set a strong example of character for your students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
  • Texas Educator Certification, or willingness to join an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) to get certified
  • Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology
  • Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools
  • Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
