About the role

Inspect, modify, and repair aircraft at the maintenance base and remote locations. Troubleshoot technical discrepancies and execute repairs of company aircraft. Provide guidance to entry-level mechanics and on-site contract mechanics on basic tasks and troubleshooting. Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment, voltage/amperage measuring, recording devices, and navigation of troubleshooting equipment.

Hiring in CVG, ORD, MIA, LAX, or JFK. Must be local or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot technical discrepancies and execute repair of company aircraft.
  • Accomplish aircraft inspections per company procedures.
  • Use electronic test equipment, voltage or amperage measuring, recording devices, and navigation troubleshooting equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical orders.
  • Inspect and assist in maintenance of company equipment and tooling.
  • Work as a member of a team interfacing with contract maintenance personnel.
  • Follow safety measures, good shop practices, and cleanliness standards.
  • Communicate discrepancies to the Maintenance Control department and follow directions to troubleshoot and repair faulty conditions.
  • Ensure all aircraft documentation is completed accurately per company and FAA procedures prior to aircraft departure.
  • Provide guidance to mechanics on advanced tasks.
  • Organize daily tasks and coordinate inspections/repair of aircraft.
  • Coordinate materials and tooling requirements for projected work for the entire shift.
  • Perform manual and aircraft parts inventories as required.
  • Assist other company departments to ensure on-time departure of company aircraft.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5+ years of transport category aircraft maintenance experience (Boeing series aircraft preferred: 767, 777, 747-400, 747-800).
  • General Familiarization (Gen Fam) with RII authorization.
  • Unrestricted engine run qualifications on 767, 777, and 747 aircraft.
  • Formal training on advanced systems/avionics on 767, 777, 747 aircraft.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel for AOG recovery and special projects regularly without restrictions.
  • Bore scope qualified on CFM, Pratt & Whitney, or GE-90 engines.
  • Valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Certificate.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software and digital manuals.
  • Strong work ethics and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift parts and equipment.
  • Able to work rotating schedules including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  • Ability to work on a team and provide instruction to others.
  • Ability to adapt to changing flight schedules and work hours at short notice.
