Responsibilities

  • AOD Counseling: Performs primary alcohol and drug counseling functions, including screening, assessment, and intake; collaborates with case managers and therapists; assists in interventions; participates in group and educational sessions; completes discharge and transition plans; maintains electronic health records (EHR).
  • Program Security: Monitors entrance to permit only authorized persons entry; conducts bag and person screening; patrols premises; monitors clients and conducts room checks; reports and corrects unsafe conditions; calls police or fire department in emergencies.
  • Safety: Observes program premises for safe operations; reports and corrects spills, unsafe conditions, or defective equipment; maintains records of client compliance; assists clinical/case management staff as required.
  • Asset Protection: Reports suspicious events; completes written reports and incident logs; assists in protecting program assets.
  • Client/Participant Support: Answers phones, takes messages, greets visitors, maintains office housekeeping, monitors client self-administration of medication, and assists with program events.
  • Role Model: Demonstrates professionalism and supports clients/participants.

Qualifications

  • Alcohol and Other Drug Counseling (AOD) Certification (CCAPP, CADTP or CADEE) with 315 hours of coursework and 2040-3000 hours of supervised on-the-job training.
  • Completed modules 1 and 2 of ASAM within 2 weeks of hire.
  • One year of experience in AOD treatment services.
  • Valid California Driver's License and auto insurance.
  • Flexible schedule, especially evenings and weekends.
  • Mandated Reporter: Must report any instances of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.
