About the role

Actively greets members, provides a high level of member service, performs clean up, department set-up and closing tasks as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Greets members, helps members load order onto conveyor belt, determines member packing preferences, answers questions, relates information on special promotions, thanks members
• Assists cashier by counting items left in cart, checking under items and positioning them for scanning
• Packs member orders into boxes and loads to a separate cart or flatbed; checks packaging for tampering
• Follows all safety and security procedures and proper departmental procedures for performance of duties
• Assists members loading orders into the car when appropriate
• May assist members with self checkouts regarding scanning heavy merchandise and entering item numbers
• May assist members with self checkouts by monitoring registers for errors and keeping the belt area clean of product and debris
• Maintains cleanliness of register area and general front-end area; cleans spills and trip hazards immediately
• Performs set up and closing duties for the department, such as returning products, collecting paperwork, stocking registers, and cleaning area
• Transfers pallets of merchandise from the receiving area to the steel shelves and bulk wall for storage, or directly to the sales floor
• Assists with stocking and clears sales floor debris; observes and ensures correct product signage; creates computer-generated signs; labels unmarked product with item number
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials
• Assists with department duties and other departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
