About the role
The anticipated school counselor will support students in grades K-5 at the Primary School. This position is expected to start on October 26, 2026 or sooner.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to promote student success
- Implement evidence-based programs to address social-emotional learning needs
- Assess student needs and develop individualized plans
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
- NJDOE School Counselor Certificate
- Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Experience working with children and adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge of child development and psychology
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
- Pass a background check
