Anticipated Campus Safety

Anticipated position starting August 10, 2026. 27.5 hours per week, 10-month assignment.

Pay

Grade 3, Step 1: $25.52 per hour (per ESPA agreement).

Responsibilities

• Supervise student behavior outside the classroom and assist teachers with immediate disciplinary problems in the classroom.
• Promote the well-being and safety of students and provide assistance and direction to campus visitors.
• Respond to emergency or crisis situations to address immediate safety concerns.
• Observe and report behavior of students, parents, and visitors on school property to promote a safe school environment.
• Ensure school policies and procedures are followed by supervising students’ behavior outside of classrooms.
• Assist visitors by issuing visitor passes and directing them to appropriate locations.
• Support and supervise students in non-academic settings.
• Assist students who appear ill, distraught, or otherwise needy by contacting parents or appropriate school personnel and referring them to services.
• Promote a clean school environment and model appropriate behavior to correct student misperceptions.
• Assist the DHSSSW and School Resource Officer in escorting students to and from various locations.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance job performance.
• Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with staff, students, and community members.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Physical ability to lift/move supplies, materials, and office equipment up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods and/or move frequently throughout the building.
• Organizational skills to prioritize workflow.
• Proficiency in the use of computers, office practices, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to project a positive image of the district and exhibit a positive employee attitude.
• Appropriate interpersonal skills and clear, respectful communication with students, staff, parents, visitors, and the public.
• Awareness of a variety of student needs, including physical and social-emotional needs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Completion of district-approved Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training.
• Physical ability to move about frequently and quickly throughout the school campus.
• Valid Red Cross First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/AED Certification or equivalent.
