Responsibilities
- Teach introductory courses in Anthropology, including Archaeology, Cultural Anthropology, and Biological Anthropology (lecture and laboratory).
- Deliver instruction in-person, hybrid, or online; evening classes may be required.
- Advance equitable student learning using inclusive and anti-racist pedagogies.
- Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes and program review.
- Collaborate in curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
- Engage in professional development, department/division/college committees, and shared governance.
Vocational & Continuing Education
- Maintain course materials, assignments, grading, and office hours.
Anthropology
- Maintain professional conduct, ethics, and up-to-date knowledge in the discipline.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s in Anthropology or Archaeology, OR Bachelor’s in Anthropology/Archaeology plus Master’s in Sociology, Biological Sciences, Forensic Sciences, Genetics, or Paleontology.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse academic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience teaching college-level Anthropology courses.
- Commitment to culturally responsive curriculum and inclusive teaching methods.
- Experience teaching students underprepared for college-level reading/writing.
- Experience across multiple teaching modalities: face-to-face, hybrid, online.
- Commitment to equity, innovation, and faculty responsibilities beyond the classroom.
