About the role

Leo Customer Terminal Engineering is seeking an Antenna Design Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on small antenna design across various technologies and device form-factors. You will design, optimize, and validate high-performance antennas in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment. Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and experience with mass-production consumer electronics are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Perform EM simulation and modeling to inform expected antenna performance and required antenna volumes.
• Antenna prototyping and correlation of measurement and simulation results.
• Element tuning and optimization.
• Antenna location and interoperability assessments to ensure desense-free performance.
• Passive and active antenna characterization.
• Compile antenna performance reports and present findings to senior leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, layout, industrial design, regulatory compliance, and project management teams.
• Support factory test stations and debug hardware builds.
• Use Finite Element Analysis tools (e.g., SolidWorks) to evaluate structural and thermal performance of antenna designs and their interaction with the overall product assembly.

This role may require travel.

Requirements

• 4+ years of antenna design experience related to 3G/4G technologies, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth products.
• Strong knowledge of antenna fundamentals and radiation theory.
• Proficiency with EM simulation software (e.g., CST, HFSS, FEKO) and experience correlating simulation to measurement results.
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and implementation.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Antenna and RF test and measurement expertise.

Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
• Experience designing complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (preferred).

Pay

Base salary range: $117,300 – $160,000 USD annually (Redmond, WA).
