About the Role

The Annuity Experience Team seeks to define the goal state experiences across our partner and member lifecycle by understanding their needs and expectations when working with Nationwide. We translate that into a vision and roadmap for the future, drive planning activities, sponsor execution, measure progress, and ensure an optimal experience for partners and members.

This role will initially focus on supporting the new business experience for financial professionals and may evolve over time. The hired associate must reside within 35 miles of Columbus, OH (One/Three Nationwide Plaza). This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote (Monday, Friday).

This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization, and Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT Extension program.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the New Business Experience Owner to define the future state experience and plan for near-term outcomes and initiatives.
  • Consult with project teams across the Annuity and Shared portfolios to ensure delivery of an optimal experience for partners and members.
  • Research competitor experiences and best practices, developing actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze the current state experience of partners and members across channels and product types, developing recommendations for improvement.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of the future state vision and roadmaps across the partner and member lifecycle.
  • Represent the Annuity Experience Team on various committees to inform and enhance the post-issue experience.
  • Serve as a technical professional in the analysis of pricing, design features, product, and profitability.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and make solution recommendations.
  • Provide support and guidance related to product design and management.
  • Offer high-level, strategic input on key initiatives addressing product strategy and profitability objectives.
  • Lead or participate in new business development and implementation projects.
  • Predict needs and issues, acting as a resource to Product Directors and reacting to market conditions.
  • Identify and evaluate business opportunities, partnering with leadership to assess financial results and recommend strategies to increase profitability.
  • Investigate and assist in the development of new tools and technology to improve product performance.
  • Review and analyze highly technical and sophisticated market information on benchmark competitors, identifying options to keep products market-competitive.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, marketing, or a related field (preferred). Graduate degree desired.
  • Industry designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM, CLU, FLMI, ChFC, CFP, NASD) preferred.
  • Typically, eight years of relevant experience in a related industry.

  • Customer experience research, planning, execution, and measurement.
  • Analyzing and synthesizing data to develop insights and propose recommendations for improving partner and member experiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Demonstrated strategic decision-making and proficiency in analytic tools for pricing and product planning.
  • Ability to drive results, navigate ambiguity, and understand strategic objectives.
  • Leadership skills for high-profile projects and creative presentation of ideas in written and verbal form.

Pay

The national salary range for this role is $108,000.00–$200,000.00. The expected starting salary range is $108,000.00–$162,000.00. Placement within this range will be determined by skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope, complexity, and location of the role, as well as market conditions. Sales incentives based on performance goals may also be available.

For part-time roles, compensation may be prorated based on hours worked relative to a full-time schedule.

Schedule

Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote (Monday, Friday).
