About The Role
The Annual Fund & Database Manager (AFDM) plays a crucial role in ensuring NatureServe's financial sustainability by developing and executing a robust strategy to grow annual philanthropic support. This position manages the annual giving program, donor data, and communications, and works closely with the Chief Advancement Officer and Director of Major Gifts.
What You'll Do
Develop and implement short-, mid-, and long-term strategies for core and mid-level donor segments that are data-driven, relationship-based, and highly segmented.
Lead the planning and execution of 3–4 annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, and digital fundraising.
Manage donor acquisition strategies to build a strong and growing donor pipeline.
Identify major gift prospects to the Major Gifts Director and CAO, and conduct prospect research.
Create compelling donor-centered content for appeals, stewardship, and campaign communications.
Serve as the primary administrator for Salesforce NPSP, ensuring excellent data hygiene, workflow configuration, and system optimization for the Philanthropy team.
Process gifts, acknowledgements and tax receipts accurately and promptly.
Maintain and optimize Mailchimp and Salesforce integrations for targeted communications.
Maintain and oversee Fundraise Up platform and online contribution workflows in Salesforce.
Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, dashboards, KPIs, and campaign insights.
Partner with the Finance team for monthly reconciliation of contributed revenue.
Collaborate closely with the Communications & Marketing team to ensure timely development of campaign assets.
Manage relationships with external vendors, including mailhouses, graphic designers, and print shops.
Coordinate with third-party fundraising partners to support campaign goals.
Utilize JIRA project management software to track and complete tasks across Philanthropy and Communications.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in annual fund management and philanthropic operations.
Advanced proficiency with Salesforce NPSP.
Strong verbal and written communication skills (writing samples required).
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
Experience with donor segmentation, stewardship, and campaign execution using digital technologies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Position is primarily remote, with occasional travel (approximately 4-6%) for client meetings, conferences, and internal retreats.
Physical Requirements: Sitting, standing, typing/computer use, repetitive motion.

The Pay Range For This Role Is 70,000 - 75,000 USD per year(Remote (United States)).
