About the role
This is a temporary position assisting in the routine care of clinical and biomedical research animals by performing duties such as feeding, watering, cleaning, handling, and transporting animals.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily health observation of biomedical research animals including rodents, guinea pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, sheep, and other species.
- Report health concerns to veterinary staff.
- Provide food and water to animals and clean cages.
- Perform general facility cleaning and refuse disposal.
Qualifications
- Experience working with rodents and other animals.
- Certification at ALAT level (desired).
Schedule
Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday.
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
- Tuesday, Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday, Sunday: 7:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Physical Demands
- Frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly lift 25+ lbs.
- Push and pull carts of cages.
Health Risks
Exposure to animal allergens.
