Animal Care Specialist

About the role

Cache County is looking for an Animal Care Specialist to help in our Animal Shelter. The Animal Care Specialist will perform a combination of customer service and animal care duties.

Responsibilities

• Providing information and assisting members of the public
• Maintaining accurate records of all animals that come in or out of the shelter
• Contacting owners
• Answering phone calls and emails
• Collecting and processing required fees
• Providing care to the animals, including bathing and general grooming
• Feeding and watering animals
• Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, cages, food bowls, and litterboxes
• Monitoring the overall health and well-being of animals in the shelter's care

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent and animal handling and husbandry experience.

Knowledge requirements

• Basic principles and practices of animal handling, care, and treatment
• General office procedures and methods
• Basic cash handling, fund reconciliations, and deposit procedures
