Animal Care Attendant

Responsibilities

  • Aid Veterinarians in monitoring patients post-surgery and restraining animals during exams.
  • Collect samples such as stool, blood, and other samples for testing.
  • Perform tests on collected samples and assist in interpreting results.
  • Administer medications accurately according to the veterinarian's prescription.
  • Communicate with clients regarding medical information and instructions for animal care.
  • Support the Client Service Specialist team as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
  • At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
  • Knowledgeable in veterinary medical terminology and medication.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs to waist height.
  • Frequent standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying, and reaching.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Pay

Compensation is based on experience and education. Hourly wage ranges from $15 to $20.
