Anesthesiology Physician

About the role

Anesthesiology Physician responsible for providing anesthesia care in a hospital setting, primarily handling general and cardiovascular procedures within a care team model supervising CRNAs.

Average caseload includes 3,500–4,000 general anesthesia cases and 10–15 cardiovascular cases monthly. Optional in-house call for nights and weekends is available for general anesthesia, with no call required for cardiovascular cases.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and independently manage anesthesia cases, including general and cardiovascular procedures.
• Supervise Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) within a care team model.
• Utilize Cerner and AIMS electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Perform duties requiring proficiency in pediatric anesthesia.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout perioperative procedures.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology.
• TEE certification for cardiovascular roles.
• Active North Carolina medical license.
• Proficiency in pediatric anesthesia.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Ability to work independently or supervise as needed.
