Position
Anesthesiologists work in a care-team model. Mix of solo cases and supervising cases.
Responsibilities
- Case assignments: General surgery, ortho, endo, ENT, GYN, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, plastics, healthy peds, dental. No head/hearts or chronic pain.
- Epidurals, Blocks/Lines are frequent and expected.
- Aid in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department.
- Medical management of patients rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures.
- Pre-anesthesia assessment.
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent.
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient.
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition.
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed.
Requirements
- Schedule: 4-day work week. Call is 1 in 7 weekends. Monday-Thursday night float system.
- Additional pay for additional call (not beeper call).
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine.
- ECFMG and FLEX Completion of approved residency in anesthesia.
- Currently licensed as a physician.
