Anesthesiologist

About the role

The Department of Anesthesiology at NYU Langone Health—Long Island is seeking a full-time anesthesiologist to provide care and comfort to patients during the perioperative period.

Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthesia assessment including analyzing patients' medical histories.
• Obtaining and verifying patient consent and explaining the surgical process to patients.
• Discussing anesthetic options and associated risks with patients.
• Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Administering anesthesia and monitoring patients' vital signs during medical and surgical procedures.
• Making appropriate adjustments in anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
• Monitoring patients' vital signs and pain management after surgical and medical procedures to ensure patient comfort.

Requirements

• A degree in medicine with a 4-year residency in anesthesiology.
• BE/BC certification in anesthesiology.
• A valid state license and malpractice insurance.
• Strong detail-oriented ability.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to make quick decisions in a highly stressful environment.

Pay

$500,000 per year for full-time employment. Consideration will be given for experience, training, hospital/community needs, and other factors.

Schedule

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island operates on a standard work schedule.
