About the role
The Department of Anesthesiology at NYU Langone Health—Long Island is seeking a full-time anesthesiologist to provide care and comfort to patients during the perioperative period.
Responsibilities
- Pre-anesthesia assessment including analyzing patients' medical histories.
- Obtaining and verifying patient consent and explaining the surgical process to patients.
- Discussing anesthetic options and associated risks with patients.
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Administering anesthesia and monitoring patients' vital signs during medical and surgical procedures.
- Making appropriate adjustments in anesthesia to ensure patient comfort.
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and pain management after surgical and medical procedures to ensure patient comfort.
Requirements
- A degree in medicine with a 4-year residency in anesthesiology.
- BE/BC certification in anesthesiology.
- A valid state license and malpractice insurance.
- Strong detail-oriented ability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions in a highly stressful environment.
Pay
$500,000 per year for full-time employment. Consideration will be given for experience, training, hospital/community needs, and other factors.
Schedule
NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island operates on a standard work schedule.
