Anesthesia Technician - University Hospital

About the role

The Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of the Manager, Anesthesia Services and performs a variety of anesthesia equipment and supply related tasks. The team reflects a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect, consisting of registered nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgeons to provide patient care and supportive services aimed at achieving patient care outcomes, improving service levels, reducing hospitalization length, and decreasing costs.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic and treatment services during regular recurring critical care situations.
• Set up, check, inspect, maintain, and calibrate a variety of anesthesia equipment.
• Perform anesthesia-specialized treatment procedures that significantly affect the accuracy and reliability of the anesthetic course of the patient.
• Coordinate Anesthesia and Auto transfusion services, including technical and logistical support to physicians and hospital staff for surgical procedures.
• Follow all safety standards for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintain stock levels, cleanliness, and organization of all work areas.
• Demonstrate a positive, collaborative attitude and be respectful to all patients, family, and staff.

Requirements

• Minimum education required per Classified Civil Service Specifications or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required qualifications per Classified Civil Service Requirements.
