Anesthesia Technician, 24hrs, Gaithersburg

About the role

Provides assistance to anesthesia provider as they administer anesthesia by assembling drugs and equipment needed for scheduled procedures. Cleans, orders, stocks, assembles, and organizes equipment used by anesthesia provider.

Responsibilities

• Orders, stocks, cleans, and inspects anesthesia equipment and supplies needed for surgical procedures.
• Reviews the daily schedules of procedures and assembles supplies needed for each procedure.
• Obtains additional supplies needed by the anesthesia provider during procedure.
• Removes equipment and supplies used by the anesthesia provider following procedure.
• Assures that equipment is properly cleaned and sterilized following use.
• Assists in preparing the surgical suite for next procedure.
• Performs other related duties as directed.

Requirements

• Minimum one (1) year of related experience in an operating room setting.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• General understanding and demonstration of knowledge of aseptic techniques.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in the use of applicable computer software.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 50 pounds, hear, speak, and see.
• Currently working as an anesthesia tech in an ASC/Hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Certified Anesthesia Technician (CAT) by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists & Technicians (ASATT) Board preferred.

Skills

• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift ≥50 lbs, hear, speak, and see.

Pay

$26.45 – $38.92 per hour

Schedule

• Part‑time, 24 scheduled weekly hours.
• Evening shift, Monday–Friday.
• Working hours: 1:00 PM – 7:30 PM.
• Onsite work setting.
• Travel required approximately 25 % of the time.
