Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) for patients undergoing gastrointestinal procedures, such as EGD’s and Colonoscopies
- Perform appropriate pre-anesthesia evaluation and risk assessment
- Develop and administer an individualized anesthesia plan based on the patient's medical history, procedure, and clinical needs
- Continuously monitor patients throughout anesthesia and recovery in accordance with applicable standards of care
- Recognize and appropriately manage changes in patient condition and anesthesia-related complications
- Ensure appropriate documentation of anesthesia care
- Communicate effectively with gastroenterologists, nursing staff, surgical center personnel, patients, and families
- Promote a culture of patient safety, professionalism, teamwork, and excellent clinical care
- PRACTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS, FACILITY POLICIES, AND REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
- Board-Certified Anesthesiologist MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology, with board certification preferred
- Active, unrestricted Wisconsin medical license
- Current DEA registration, as applicable
- Current ACLS certification
- MUST HAVE OWN MALPRACTICE INSURANCE
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Current national certification as a CRNA
- Active, unrestricted Wisconsin APRN/RN licensure and prescriptive authority as applicable
- Current ACLS certification
- MUST HAVE OWN MALPRACTICE INSURANCE
Physical & Mental Demands
- Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, bend, reach and stoop throughout entire shift to accomplish tasks
- Able to push, pull, lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Able to work through interruptions, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
