Anesthesia Medical Coder

Responsibilities
- Code anesthesia services for a variety of surgical specialties.
- Review documentation to accurately assign anesthesia CPT and diagnosis codes.
- Apply anesthesia crosswalks and flat-rate billing methodologies.
- Identify and code medical direction and supervision requirements.
- Ensure compliance with payer and Tennessee billing guidelines.
- Maintain productivity goals of 65-80 charts per day while achieving 94-98% coding accuracy.
- Collaborate with coding leadership and teammates to resolve coding questions and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of recent anesthesia coding experience.
- Strong knowledge of anesthesia coding guidelines, crosswalks, and medical direction.
- Experience with general surgery and pain management coding.
- Tennessee anesthesia billing guideline experience preferred (or ability to learn quickly).
- Experience with Imagine or PhyGen billing systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with Epic, AAPC Codify, and anesthesia coding tools preferred.
- CPC required; CANPC strongly preferred.
- AHIMA certifications will also be considered.
- Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Pay
$30.00 - $35.00 / Per hour (based on experience)
Schedule
Monday-Friday, between 7:00 AM-6:00 PM EST (8.5-hour shift with a 30-minute lunch)
Position Type
4-6 month contract with strong potential for permanent hire
