Responsibilities
- Examines and treats a wide range of works of art on paper, photographs, books, and archival materials.
- Supports preventive conservation activities, exhibitions, and loans, as well as conservation outreach.
- Collaborates with conservators, conservation scientists, collections care specialists, curators, and other Museum staff.
- Develops a research project focused on artist materials or techniques and/or new treatment methodologies in collaboration with the Center’s Research Laboratory.
- Participates in lectures, symposia, workshops, as well as visits, and collaborates with nearby cultural institutions.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Paper Conservation or equivalent experience.
- Experience conducting research.
- Great communication and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrates visual, manual, and scholarly aptitudes.
Benefits
The expected hourly rate for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $25.00 subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package.
