Anchor/Reporter

Main Responsibilities

• Create, gather, and write meaningful stories for station newscasts, websites, and social media platforms
• Provide news on-air as directed by the news management team
• Engage with local community members
• Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance
• Work closely with all members of the news team, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, News Managers, etc.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills
• 2 years of experience as a Reporter
• A bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field preferred
• The ability to shoot and/or edit when called upon

Skills

• Excellent live shot skills
• Thrive on breaking stories
• Strong interviewing skills
• Communicate clearly on-air to viewers and behind-the-scenes with producers
• Show the ability to write and edit scripts effectively and efficiently
• Flexible to fill in on Fox SA morning and 9p shows, News 4 Morning, Early Evening, and Late shows
