The College of Nursing offers a three-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program and flexible post-licensure programs, including RN to BSN, Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and graduate certificates. The College of Health Professions offers Master in Public Health (MPH), Master of Social Work (MSW), and Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree programs. Chamberlain is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
About the Role
We are seeking superior instructors with high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. This role primarily targets industry professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate BSN nursing students on-site in Tysons Corner, VA, specifically for the following course:
- Anatomy & Physiology I-IV with Lab: A four-course sequence studying human anatomy and physiology using a body systems approach. Topics include:
- Basic anatomical and directional terminology, muscle tissues, cell biology, histology, integumentary, and skeletal systems
- Muscular and nervous systems, special senses, and the endocrine system
- Cardiovascular, immune, and respiratory systems
- Digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems
Courses may meet once or twice per week for eight weeks. Face-to-face interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (e.g., online discussions and assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis.
Responsibilities
- Develop and provide students with an approved Covista syllabus following a template established by the local campus, including terminal course objectives.
- Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials.
- Use appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software (e.g., websites, email, online discussions) to prepare the course and make it accessible to students.
- Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and improve student learning.
- Set clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and weighted distribution of evaluation categories.
- Ensure the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams, and provide timely feedback to students.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- A Master’s Degree is required for all faculty positions (with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught for undergraduate teaching).
- Requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.

- Ability to work in a collegial manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups.

Pay
The expected compensation rate for this position is between $1,120 per assignment to $7,245 per assignment, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught, experience, geographic location, licensure, market factors, and departmental budgets.
