micro1 is engaging Anatomy / Medicine / Physiotherapy Students to contribute specialized knowledge to a customer's advanced annotation project. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters.
This opportunity focuses on accurately annotating hand and finger landmarks in image and video data using MediaPipe-style hand topology and applying anatomical knowledge to complex poses, occlusions, and object interactions.
Remote contractor role. Compensation: $15-$80/hour.
Responsibilities
- Annotate hand and finger landmarks and keypoints using MediaPipe-style hand topology, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict guidelines.
- Identify and mark anatomical joints including the wrist, MCP, PIP, DIP, fingertips, and thumb-specific joints such as CMC, MCP, IP, and thumb tip.
- Precisely place anatomical landmarks according to defined annotation protocols and specified tolerance thresholds.
- Infer and accurately annotate partially occluded or visually challenging joints and landmarks by reasoning through complex hand positions and object interactions.
- Interpret a wide range of hand poses, orientations, and perspectives to ensure consistent and high-quality annotations across varied image and video data.
- Review visual feedback, identify deviations from project requirements, and make targeted corrections to maintain annotation quality at scale.
Requirements
- Current studies or academic background in anatomy, medicine, physiotherapy, physical therapy, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong understanding of human anatomy, particularly the anatomy and joint structure of the hands and fingers.
- Ability to identify anatomical landmarks including the wrist, MCP, PIP, DIP, CMC, IP, fingertips, and thumb tip.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise annotation protocols, guidelines, and tolerance requirements.
- Excellent visual reasoning skills for interpreting complex hand poses, orientations, perspectives, and partially occluded joints.
- Ability to analyze image and video data accurately and consistently.
- Understanding of MediaPipe-style hand topology or ability to quickly learn structured hand landmark annotation conventions.
