Analytics Engineer

About the role

Analytics Engineer role at a long-established global business operating across payments, secure technology, digital identity and manufacturing. The company is investing heavily in technology, data and analytics, seeking an Analytics Engineer to help build the data foundations behind better product and business decisions. The position is onsite in the Greater Boston area near Dedham, MA; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product, Sales, Customer Success and Engineering to turn business questions into useful data, reporting and insight.
• Build data models and trusted sources of truth.
• Define KPIs and product metrics.
• Create dashboards and self‑service analytics.
• Analyze product usage, customer behavior, funnels and retention.
• Design and run experimentation and A/B tests.
• Perform forecasting and deeper analytical work.
• Improve data quality and reporting processes.
• Help teams understand what the data is telling them and what they should do next (beyond just producing reports).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Product Analytics, or Data Analytics.
• Strong SQL proficiency.
• Experience with data transformation tools such as dbt or SQLMesh.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks or similar).
• BI experience with tools like Tableau, Looker, Mode, Hex or similar.
• Working knowledge of Python or R.
• Experience collaborating with Product and business teams.
• Ability to turn vague business questions into clear analysis.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience with product metrics, customer behavior, funnels, cohorts, or retention analysis.
• Experience in SaaS, fintech, payments, ecommerce, or enterprise software is a plus.
