Analytical Laboratory Technician

About the role

This contract position supports innovative veterinary diagnostic studies and contributes to the development and evaluation of cutting-edge point-of-care diagnostic technologies. Working alongside veterinary and scientific experts, the Veterinary Laboratory Technician will support clinical studies, diagnostic analyzer evaluations, validation activities, and post-validation research projects. Laboratory-based work includes sample acquisition and handling, operation of diagnostic instruments such as biochemistry, hematology, and immunoassay analyzers, and documenting procedures and results per protocol instructions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct point-of-care and reference laboratory diagnostic instrument testing across biochemistry, hematology, and immunoassay instruments
• Collect data for clinical study activities including validation studies and product evaluation projects
• Support sample acquisition efforts
• Coordinate, organize, and manage study supplies, samples, consumables, and equipment
• Maintain sterile laboratory conditions where required
• Collaborate with reference laboratory colleagues to align studies with laboratory workflows
• Provide regular updates to Medical Affairs colleagues regarding study progress
• Maintain accurate records of samples, study data, methods, and results
• Ensure collected data is organized, accurate, and prepared for analysis
• Document deviations from study protocols and communicate appropriately
• Support protocol reviews and study documentation

Requirements

• BSc/BA in Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or related discipline
• Experience handling laboratory samples, equipment, and diagnostic instruments such as biochemistry, hematology, and immunoassay analyzers
• Experience with laboratory documentation, record keeping, and data capture
• Knowledge or experience within veterinary diagnostics is highly advantageous

Physical Position Requirements

• Ability to work in various positions: sitting, standing, bending
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment for the duration of data collection activities

Pay rate: $30–34/hr. Onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM in Mukilteo, WA 98275. 11-month temporary assignment.
