Analytical Chemist

Responsibilities

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses on various substances to support research, development, and quality control activities under the direction of the Laboratory General Manager.
• Execute established laboratory chemistry procedures to provide accurate and prompt chemistry data to clients.
• Perform analytical chemistry testing using various instrumentation such as: GCFID, HPLC, ICPMS, GCMSMS.
• Assist, oversee, and mentor Lab Techs to help them advance in their chemistry career.
• Review and approve QC data within parameters of precision and accuracy.
• Maintain complete and accurate chemistry documentation of activities in compliance with the Quality System.
• Prepare stock standards and reagents as needed, perform dilutions of samples and solutions, weigh stock compounds, prepare standard and fortification solutions, and calibrate preparation of primary analytical methods.
• Perform routine maintenance and follow preventative maintenance schedules on various instrumentation. Notify chemistry supervisor and take appropriate actions for non-conformances.
• Participate in corrective action process.
• Ensure the safe and efficient use of laboratory equipment and chemicals.

Requirements

• Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or related science field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a commercial lab setting.
• Experience in testing supplements and nutraceticals is a plus!
• Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods.
• GC and GCMSMS experience highly preferred.
• Comfortable with applying tests from USP and FCC monographs.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., ChemStation, Empower) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and regulatory requirements is desirable.

Qualifications

Benefits

• Annual Salary between $65,000 - $85,000.

• Full-Time | M - F 7AM-4PM / 8AM-5PM | Some weekend/holiday hours required.
