About the role
We are looking for an Analytical Chemist for our Havre de Grace, MD site.
Responsibilities
- Perform and maintain calibration and verification procedures for: FTIR, HPLC, DSC, GC, Titrator, Particle Size Analyzer, SMART 5 moisture analyzer, and other equipment as required.
- Maintain records for calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment.
- Work with outside resources on instrumentation repair/replacement quotes, installation, and service contracts.
- Support In-process, final, and R&I laboratories, including serving as a backup to analytical laboratory technicians.
- Keep the analytical laboratories stocked with supplies.
- Support plant investigations.
- Purchase lab supplies as needed.
- Support Non-Conformances and Customer Complaint investigations and reports.
- Generate and revise raw material specifications, support shelf life management, and interface with suppliers on quality roles.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s level degree in an engineering field of discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in Manufacturing.
- 3+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
- Project management experience.
- Experience using six-sigma tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and chemical and/or mechanical testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry.
- Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
- Experience in aerospace chemicals, coatings, plastics, adhesives, or composites industries.
- Experience working in a unionized environment.

Pay
The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $88,000 - $110,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
