About the Role

Toyota’s Product Profit Lifecycle Management (PPLM) Department is seeking a passionate and highly motivated Senior Analyst. This role supports full vehicle lifecycle profitability by managing cost and revenue from early concept through production, including Cost Planning, Cost Management, and Forecasting functions. It plays a key role in Toyota’s transition to enterprise profit-focused operations by delivering financial insights that inform development decisions and our long-term mobility strategy.

Reporting to the Manager of Product Lifecycle Management - Truck & Large SUV, the Senior Analyst will support the PPLM department’s objective of end-to-end product profitability management and decision support across the entire vehicle lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support profitability studies for vehicle programs from early concept through production.
  • Develop profitability analyses, financial estimates, and business case evaluations.
  • Support enterprise cost planning activities for new model programs.
  • Coordinate cost planning schedules and milestone deliverables.
  • Analyze cost planning activities including target development, cost forecasting, assumptions management, and financial modeling.
  • Support executive decision making through financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support development of vehicle profit targets and enterprise cost targets.
  • Monitor target achievement and drive functional recovery actions.
  • Support cost reduction activities throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Compare Cost Planning, Pricing, Budget, and Actual performance.
  • Analyze profitability drivers, cost variances, and financial risks.
  • Prepare executive financial reviews and management reporting.
  • Develop vehicle profitability forecasts and scenario analysis.
  • Coordinate with Product Management, Design, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Logistics, Sales, and Finance.
  • Support cross-functional meetings and project coordination.
  • Support program approval milestones and executive reviews.
  • Ensure alignment of financial assumptions across stakeholders.
  • Develop standardized financial tools, templates, and dashboards.
  • Improve lifecycle management processes and reporting capabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Enhance analytical methods and financial systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience in Product or Program Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Strategic Cost/Profit Analysis, or Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, business case development, and investment analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and translate insights into actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience supporting executive-level presentations and communicating financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven success supporting cross-functional initiatives and collaborating across Product Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Logistics, and Finance.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g., XLOOKUP, PivotTables, financial models) and experience with data visualization tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Project Management experience or certification (i.e., PMP, CAPM).
  • Familiarity with SAP, Tableau, Power BI, or other financial systems.
  • Experience with vehicle lifecycle management, cost planning, or manufacturing finance.
  • Background in process improvement, standardization, or tool development.
