About the role

Join the Medical Economics and Analytics team in New York City as a Business Analyst supporting the Sales team. Develop data, financial models, and insights to support the nation's leading fertility benefits management company.

Responsibilities

  • Become a subject matter expert (SME) in Progyny claims, utilization, pricing, and financial models.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize financial models using advanced Excel, SQL, and VBA.
  • Perform network access analyses and translate technical model outputs into clear, actionable insights.
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive proposals, RFP responses, and other market-facing materials.
  • Develop deep expertise in healthcare data and benefits while helping shape competitive solutions for prospective clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an analytical focus in healthcare, epidemiology, finance, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant work experience in healthcare, insurance, consulting, analytics, or related field.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience querying and analyzing large datasets (30M+ rows).
  • Experience using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) or similar development environments.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity to learn new tools, systems, and business processes.
  • Familiarity with healthcare and insurance terminology, employer benefits, and claims data.
  • Experience working in modern development environments and IDEs (e.g., Visual Studio Code, Cursor, PyCharm, or similar) to develop, maintain, and automate analytical solutions.
  • Experience using AI-enabled tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, or similar) to accelerate analysis or workflows.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing requests, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience partnering with customer-facing teams, such as Sales or Account Management.

Pay

The hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $75,000 - 85,000.
