About the role

The Modeling and Simulation Analyst leads the development and execution of simulations and models for the Marine Corps. Reporting to the MSTP Program Manager, this role involves operating, instructing, and maintaining various computer-based training simulations and models across different functional areas including Maneuver, Aviation, Logistics, Fires, and Military Intelligence.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, provide instruction, and maintain a variety of computer-based training simulations and models.
  • Research and extract factual data from documents relevant to military forces in simulations.
  • Analyze strengths and weaknesses during simulation-supported events and provide feasible solutions.
  • Edit doctrinal manuscripts and conduct pre-event tests and evaluations of supporting databases.
  • Attend conferences and meetings, providing recommendations and analysis of model/simulation employment.
  • Participate in structured simulation training events/exercises and simulated rehearsals of operational plans/orders.
  • Conduct post-event critiques and analyses using after-action review tools.
  • Translate real-world or fictional enemy and friendly force structures into exercise simulation databases/batch files.
  • Document salient properties of simulations and their relevance to Marine Corps or Joint training.
  • Supervise Analyst Section activities in areas like Ground, Fires, Maritime, and Logistics.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to contract personnel.
  • Coordinate and supervise assigned tasks, conduct advanced-level section training.
  • Assist government counterparts in performing their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; four years of DoD modeling and simulation experience may substitute for degree.
  • Three years of operational experience in the functional areas of Maneuver (Infantry, Armor, Engineering), Aviation (rotary and fixed wing), Logistics, Fires (Artillery, Naval Surface Fires), and Military Intelligence.
  • Three years of demonstrated knowledge of military doctrine, tactics, and command relationships at MAGTF or joint/combined command levels.
  • Two years of DoD modeling and simulation experience, including experience with MTWS and other simulation models like VBS, JCATS, JSAF, OneSAF, WARSIM, AWSIM, CBS, or JTLS.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient in MS Office, and familiarity with SharePoint and C2PC.
  • Familiarity with MEF and Combatant Command Operations Plans/Contingency Plans.
  • Knowledge of weapons systems capabilities above the SECRET//NOFORN level.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Secret security clearance.
  • Must complete a Personnel Security Investigation qualifying for access to at least the TS-SCI level and NATO level access.

Pay

$70,000 - $170,000

Schedule

Unstable schedule, including holidays and weekends.
