About the role
The Analyst II prepares and analyzes environmental samples using standard and complex testing methods in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. This role involves validating and reviewing data for accuracy, uploading laboratory data into the LIMS system, and operating a broad range of laboratory testing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Performs laboratory procedures, including:
- Batching and prepping samples for analysis, considering special client and quality assurance requirements
- Making reagents for sample analysis
- Aliquoting extracted samples to maximize laboratory productivity
- Preparing appropriate standards to ensure compliant data
- Determining analysis methods for a wide variety of organic and inorganic samples
- Operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory instruments
- Uploads data into LIMS system for review and performs Level I review of data to ensure accuracy.
- Maintains logbooks and monitors refrigerator temperatures.
- Performs job functions within Eurofins’ environmental health and safety and quality assurance standards.
- Maintains housekeeping standards for work area and inventories/stocks laboratory supplies.
- Secondary duties include:
- Ordering supplies and washing/inventorying glassware
- Writing NCMs for projects with quality assurance issues
- Purging analyzed samples
- Assisting in training new analysts on laboratory procedures
- Supporting other areas of the laboratory as needed
Requirements
- BS or BA in chemistry or related field (3 years of laboratory experience may substitute for degree).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in routine and complex laboratory procedures and instruments, preferably in a production environment.
- GCMS, FID experience; 1 year of experience analyzing organics preferred.
- Previous production-oriented work experience (ability to meet deadlines).
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Schedule
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with the possibility of overtime and weekends as needed.
Pay
Compensation range: $25 - $30 per hour, depending on experience.
