About the role
CIBC Capital Markets is a division of CIBC that provides investment banking, global markets, and credit products to clients in North America and internationally. The Equity Solutions and Equity Capital Markets team is seeking an Analyst to join their dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Gain experience in Equity and Equity-Linked underwriting and advisory business, as well as Corporate Equity Derivatives, Margin Loans.
- Gain exposure to various types of transactions including IPOs, Convertibles + Call Spreads, cross-border transactions, stake acquisitions, and financings.
- Build and maintain relationships both internally and with clients.
- Develop and deliver client presentations, prepare internal presentations, and track equity and corporate derivative markets.
- Provide analytical, structuring, research, and transaction due diligence support to senior professionals on the Equity Solutions team.
- Collaborate with colleagues across divisions including Corporate and Investment Banking, Global Markets, and Risk Management.
Requirements
- Knowledge of business, economics, and/or finance through education and experience.
- Strong interest in and knowledge of financial markets, particularly Equities, Equity-Linked securities, and Derivatives.
- Preference for candidates with Equity and Equity-Linked experience and understanding of Corporate Equity Derivative-related concepts.
- An understanding of credit analysis and accounting principles.
- Detail-oriented and able to think logically.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to grasp complex concepts quickly.
- Proven ability to contribute to high-performance teams.
- Able to work in a high-pressure/high-reward environment and take initiative on multiple projects simultaneously.

The successful candidate may be eligible for a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $135,000 for the New York, NY market, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Additional benefits include:

Pay
The expected salary range for this role is $115,000 - $135,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position.
Schedule
The role is expected to be full-time with a standard weekly schedule of 40 hours.
