Function Overview
Scotiabank’s Corporate Finance Advisory team sits at the intersection of banking and capital markets. Our team advises corporate clients on capital structure, financing strategy, and credit positioning, as well as strategic decisions across valuation, M&A, shareholder dynamics, and thematic market and sector trends.
We partner across the full Global Banking and Markets platform to deliver analytically driven recommendations and differentiated insights that create value for our clients. Core areas of focus include: capital structure optimization, credit analysis, valuation insights, capital allocation, risk management, and shareholder positioning.
Position Highlights
- Evaluate the strategic and financial needs of corporate clients and develop tailored solutions to address them
- Synthesize company, industry, and market data to generate differentiated ideas and identify new business opportunities
- Apply both equity and credit perspectives to provide thoughtful, balanced recommendations and inform due diligence
- Deliver consistent, high-quality work with strong attention to detail
- Build long-term relationships with clients and collaborate across stakeholders throughout the banking and capital markets platform
- Support deal sourcing and execution through rigorous fundamental analysis, capital markets insights, scenario modeling, and client-ready presentation materials

What You'll Bring
- A positive, proactive, and intellectually curious mindset required
- Bachelors or masters degree in a quantitative field preferred
- Prior experience in investment banking, capital markets, rating agencies, consulting, equity or credit research is a plus (as are professional designations such as CFA, CPA, etc.)
- Proven record of outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement
Work Arrangement
This position is currently an in-office role, with the expectation that you will work 5 days a week in the office.
