The Real Estate Bridge Lending team leverages the bank’s balance sheet and in-house expertise to deliver customized, non-recourse commercial real estate bridge loans nationwide, providing seamless service from origination through funding.

About the role

The Analyst, Commercial Mortgage Asset Management is responsible for asset management activities across a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans, including draw requests, loan-level analysis, documentation review, and servicing functions. The role also supports select aspects of capital markets transactions, contributing to due diligence and information coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews loan documents to confirm that terms and structural features align with company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Performs independent, ongoing loan surveillance and asset management activities to confirm loan and property conditions are met, including reviewing balance sheets, cash flow statements, and re-underwriting loans when applicable; alerts the broader group to issues or changes in asset circumstances.
  • Manages draw requests for funds held back for capital improvements, leasing, and other asset management activities.
  • Monitors borrower performance to confirm compliance with loan terms and conditions.
  • Compiles corporate reporting deliverables, including monthly delinquency reporting.
  • Serves as a secondary point of contact for borrowers and servicers, addressing questions and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintains awareness of current and upcoming loan activity through participation in loan committee meetings.
  • Supports due diligence for capital markets transactions, including tracking and coordinating information flow and reviewing and analyzing company, sponsor, and market information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of commercial real estate finance experience.
  • Bridge lending experience (preferred).
  • Thorough understanding of real estate finance structuring, documentation, and servicing (preferred).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Works effectively in a team-oriented, multitasking environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel is required.

  • Loan surveillance, re-underwriting, and asset management activities are completed accurately and on schedule, with issues identified and escalated promptly.
  • Draw requests and borrower reporting are processed within established timelines and in compliance with loan terms.
  • Loan documentation and structural analysis consistently align with company policies, procedures, and underwriting standards.
  • Capital markets due diligence support is delivered accurately and strengthens the broader group's transaction execution.
